Behavioral Health Visits
Students who already see an integrated behavioral health provider may be able to go to their scheduled appointments in the school Telehealth Office, rather than traveling to CentraCare Plaza Clinic - Pediatrics for their appointment. Additionally, integrated behavioral health providers will be available for consultation without a prior appointment. The medical team and school staff will help coordinate and offer this resource when appropriate. At this time, behavioral health services are limited to those provided at CentraCare Plaza Clinic – Pediatrics.

Questions & Answers
Where do Telehealth Visits Take Place?
The Telehealth Office is a designated area located inside Apollo High School
and Tech High School. This room offers a private space where students
can meet with a CentraCare provider via video chat.
How does it work?
Students with a scheduled behavioral health visit will arrive at the Telehealth
Office at their scheduled time. Students who are feeling ill should go
to the nurse’s office. The school nurse will determine if a telehealth
visit is appropriate.
Can parents be present during a telehealth visit?
Parents are welcome to join the visit via telephone call.
What is the cost for telehealth visits?
Services provided through telehealth will be billed by CentraCare using
standard clinic fees. If you have insurance, CentraCare will submit claims
to the insurance company. For questions about financial services available
at CentraCare, contact 320-255-5622.
What happens if a prescription is needed?
If the CentraCare provider recommends medication, the prescription will
be sent to the student’s preferred pharmacy.
Will the student be sent home from school?
School staff will follow school policy to make this determination.
When are telehealth visits available?
Apollo High School will offer telehealth services starting on the first
day of school. Tech High School will offer visits beginning October 2019.
Visits are available when school is in session, during normal school hours.
How should parents prepare for a telehealth visit?
Complete the CentraCare Admission Consent form and return it to your school’s
health office at the start of the school year, or any time.
