Biography Dr. Schaap has an active, busy family. They enjoy volleyball, music, snow skiing, CrossFit and spending time at the cabin. "Born and raised on a farm in Minnesota, Orthopedics seemed to be a good fit within the medical realm," says Dr. Schaap. "It allows me to apply common sense problem-solving and mechanical skills, much like we did growing up. I have lived and worked in Minnesota my entire life. Minnesota is my home, and St. Cloud is one of the best places in the state to be able to live and practice."
"I believe in understanding patients' symptoms, as well as their goals. While some may be willing to tolerate symptoms to avoid surgery, others will pursue a surgical option. I believe that patients should be allowed to gather information and make choices based on individual needs and concerns." - Dr. Schaap
